Self-sacrifice isn’t really our style. Sure, we’ll give up our seat on the T to the older woman with the clear rain hat (after all, we were not raised by wolves). But generally, we’re motivated as much by what feels good as what does good — which explains why many of our “contributions to the betterment of the world” seem to have the most impact on the champagne industry. But when the opportunity arises to marry our feel-good instincts with our do-good duties, we stand up (or, in this case, lie down) and take notice. Jimmyjane, a favorite purveyor of luxe toys and other sexy goodies, has just released a book and “massager” combination ($185 for both at jimmyjane.com) that takes doing and feeling good to a new level. It’s easy to see — and feel — why Jimmyjane’s FORM 6 vibrator has been called “life-changing.” We love the slick, sculptural design made from smooth silicone in a variety of delish colors. But more than that, we love that it’s cordless and requires no disposable batteries — we just rest it on its high-capacity lithium-ion charger for up to two hours of (waterproof!) fun. And since we’ve fallen for this green machine, we can’t wait to read the book that now comes with it, Stefanie Iris Weiss’s brand-new guide, Eco-Sex: Go Green Between the Sheets and Make Your Love Life Sustainable. With tips on everything from choosing body-safe sex accessories to greening our bedrooms, doing good suddenly feels fantastic. Now all we need is a “Do not disturb” sign. And make it recycled paper, not plastic, please.
